Gord's Story

Gord Martineau is a Canadian television and radio journalist who recently signed off from City News following an impressive 39 years as a Senior News Anchor. Gord is the recipient of many awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Radio- Television- Digital News Directors Association, The Gemini Award as Canada’s Best News Anchor from The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television as well as the Academy’s Humanitarian Award.

Gord has now re-directed his energies toward charitable causes which he also reported on during his 50 year career which began in 1967.

Some of those organizations enlisted his support from the very beginning. He provided them with the crucial support they need in ways not everyone can, so they can help others.

In particular, Gord has invested his time supporting The Herbie Fund at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, GlobalMedic, The Children’s Breakfast Clubs and the Second Chance Scholarship Fund.

From the world abroad to our very soil here in Canada; Gord and now you can reach out and make a positive difference in our global community.
