Two children arrived at SickKids from Mongolia, with complicated health issues. From where they lived it was a 3-day trip to the nearest hospital just to receive a check-up. They have waited years for this surgery that they probably would not have made it through childhood without. The two mothers from Mongolia accompanying their children are very thankful for the Herbie Fund.
Devastating floods in Indonesia put the lives of thousands at risk. The flooding had quickly caused widespread illness and fever. People were left without any resources or support from their government. GlobalMedic's response team deployed in Indonesia with medications and equipment to provide clean water, saving the lives of many.
Every dollar donated to the Herbie Fund goes directly towards covering the medical costs of saving a child's life. The Herbie Fund is constantly recieving applications from desperate families who are seeking help for their children. Phillip is a Herbie kid whose feet were so severely damaged that doctors back in Poland believed the only option was to remove them. Thanks to corrective surgery at SickKids, Phillip is able to keep his feet, and will be able to walk, run, and play like any other 7 year old once again.
